Learning to Fly | Bengaluru

Designed for a special set of clients, this home sits in the lush outskirts of Bangalore, in what the owners fondly refer to as the ‘original Bangalore.’ The 3300 sq ft, three-bedroom apartment is part of the beautifully conceived “Learning to Fly” building by Total Environment, a nod to the iconic Tom Petty song. The clients’ brief was clear: they wanted their home to be a warm, tactile sanctuary for their growing family.

Each room in the home takes on a unique identity, with variations in form, colour, and function more pronounced than in any other project we've undertaken. Yet, a cohesive thread ties the spaces together—colour, texture, and material. The materiality shifts with purpose, leading you through spaces from the formal living area to the dining room, where textures and colours are interwoven to harmonise with the changing light throughout the day.
